Arketype
Launched fifteen years ago by Detroit native Paul Meinke, Arketype is a no-holds-barred design and advertising firm boldly serving up brand development, print and broadcast advertising, corporate video and animation, documentaries, web design and more.
The firm is a creative haven that develops and nurtures a diverse artistic team, allowing individual voices to surface and meld into a creative crescendo. It currently employs 22 full-time staff.
Jim Rivett, Co-principal of Arketype and Creative Director, joined the firm in 1997 with the vision of transforming the firm beyond its print roots and into documentary, film, television broadcast, product sales videos and more. However, it was all to be done under the caveat that the work had to align with the agency’s brand, which among its characteristics is to create and produce in strictly high-concept manner.
To that end, when it became time to add an accomplished and passionate documentary and video professional he turned to Shelly Young. In the three years since joining Arketype, Young, Rivett and the editing duo of DeGaull Vang and Jason Davis, have concepted and produced a number of award-winning film and video projects. In the summer of 2007, results of Arketype’s tight-knit team will culminate with the premier of the full-length feature film documentary Westbound.
